Day 1 – Welcome to Glasgow

Your adventure begins with a 2:30 PM departure from your hotel for a guided city tour. Glasgow’s rich heritage shines through its Victorian and Art Nouveau architecture, reflecting its past as a global port and shipbuilding powerhouse. Gather with your fellow travelers for a welcome drink and dinner at your hotel, settling in for the exciting days ahead.

Step aboard a ferry to the Isle of Bute, where sweeping island vistas set the scene. Visit the magnificent 19th-century Mount Stuart House, renowned for its architecture and art. Spend time exploring Rothesay, the island’s vibrant main town. Return to Glasgow for a relaxed evening—dinner is on your own to enjoy at leisure.

Travel along the picturesque shores of Loch Lomond, celebrated for its breathtaking scenery. Continue through the majestic Glencoe and on to Fort William. Visit the iconic Eilean Donan Castle, dramatically perched where three lochs meet—a fairy-tale fortress that’s a photographer’s dream.

Explore the legendary Isle of Skye, linked to Bonnie Prince Charlie’s story. Tour Dunvegan Castle, the ancient seat of Clan MacLeod and Scotland’s longest-inhabited castle. Capture stunning views at Kilt Rock before arriving in Portree, with its charming harbor and colorful houses. Enjoy free time to soak in the village atmosphere before dinner back at your hotel.

Venture to Inverewe Gardens, a botanical treasure in the Highlands boasting exotic plants nurtured amid wild surroundings. Spot wildlife such as deer, seals, and golden eagles, alongside towering redwoods. Later, arrive at your hotel in tranquil Gairloch for a peaceful evening and group dinner.

Stop in the historic town of Dornoch before visiting Dunrobin Castle, a majestic chateau inspired by Versailles with breathtaking coastal views. Journey north to Scrabster, then board a ferry to the Orkney Islands, where you’ll spend the next two nights immersed in ancient history.

Delve into the Neolithic wonders of Orkney, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Drive past the Earl’s Palace in Birsay and visit the 5,000-year-old village of Skara Brae—Europe’s best-preserved prehistoric settlement. Explore Skaill House, home to generations of lairds, then marvel at the ceremonial stone circle, the Ring of Brodgar. End the day with a visit to St Magnus Cathedral in Kirkwall. Evening free to dine independently.

Cross the historic Churchill Barriers, WWII causeways designed to protect against submarines. Visit the poignant Italian Chapel, crafted by POWs during the war. Return to the mainland by ferry and travel south to Strathpeffer, a Victorian spa town. Enjoy dinner at your hotel, soaking in its charming atmosphere.

Cruise along the Caledonian Canal to the legendary Loch Ness, famed for its mysterious depths. Visit Culloden Battlefield, the site of a historic clash that shaped Scotland’s future. Later, witness expert sheepdogs in action on a local farm. Dinner awaits at your hotel.

Discover the art of whisky-making at The Glenturret Distillery, Scotland’s oldest working distillery set in beautiful Perthshire countryside. Savor a tasting and learn its traditions. Then travel to Edinburgh’s Grassmarket area. Unwind before an authentic Scottish evening featuring traditional food and lively entertainment. (For July 26 – August 11 departures, enjoy an independent evening.)

Explore Edinburgh’s elegant New Town and historic Royal Mile. Tour the imposing Edinburgh Castle and see the Scottish Crown Jewels. Spend your evening as you wish. (July 26 – August 11 departures attend the spectacular Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo on the Castle Esplanade.)
