DAY 1: ARRIVE IN LONDON - TRAVEL TO COSTWOLDS & WALES

From London, you journey west to the Cotswolds, famed for its charming historic villages. Your friendly driver-guide shares local stories and helps you capture the best photos.

Crossing into Wales, your first stop is Hay-on-Wye, the famous ‘town of books’ near the Brecon Beacons. You then travel through the scenic Elan Valley and Cambrian Mountains before arriving in Aberystwyth, a vibrant seaside town where you stay for two nights.

Head north into the rugged landscapes of Snowdonia National Park. Stop in the charming village of Beddgelert to visit the legendary grave of Gelert, the faithful hound. Continue on to Harlech Castle, a dramatic stronghold built by Edward I, perched above the sea with views of the surrounding mountains. After a day of exploring history and nature, return to Aberystwyth by late afternoon.

Departing from Aberystwyth, you wind along the coast of Cardigan Bay, passing the colorful town of Aberaeron before arriving in New Quay. With its golden harbour, bright white cottages, and strong links to poet Dylan Thomas, New Quay is one of Britain’s most charming coastal gems — and if you’re lucky, you might even spot dolphins or whales offshore.

Turning inland, you explore the historic Dinefwr Estate* (Newton House) and the atmospheric ruins of its ancient castle. Afterwards, you continue south to Laugharne, the town where Dylan Thomas spent his final years and penned the celebrated Under Milk Wood.

A short drive then brings you to the delightful walled town of Tenby, where you’ll spend the next two nights.

On your last full day in Wales, you venture into the far southwest to discover its dramatic beauty.

You’ll admire some of Britain’s most spectacular coastline at Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, a landscape steeped in history as the birthplace of Wales’s patron saint and the Twdyr (later Tudor) royal family.

Next, you head to the tiny city of St Davids, where you’ll have time to enjoy lunch and wander its historic streets. Afterwards, you visit Pembroke, where you can explore the mighty fortress and ancient town walls.

Finally, you return to Tenby for a leisurely evening by the sea.
